Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy for spider veins is done by using a minute needle with special medications that close the veins or superficial laser to block them by heat.
These office procedures have little discomfort and potential side effects. These are usually temporary and can include browny discoloration, matting (development of minute vessels at site of blocked spider vein), rare blister formation and allergic reactions. |

The procedure takes approximately 1 hour in the office with a mild sedative. The patient goes home immediately and can return to work in 1 to 3 days when discomfort (if any) subsides.
Potential side effects may include bruising, transient numbness and achiness and rarely deep vein thrombosis.
